*Research to Prototype – UX/UI Design of Amiqa’s Channel Manager

The project was from my internship in Amiqa.io

Brief: Amiqa.io is developing an AI-powered Channel Manager for small hotels (5–25 rooms), designed to simplify managing availability, pricing, and OTA connections in one platform. This tool targets non-technical hotel owners and aims to reduce overbooking risks while supporting better, data-driven decisions.

The team had already conducted market research with over 100 hotel managers and owners, identifying a strong demand for a simpler, all-in-one solution with a focus on usability. I was given these insights and tasked with creating a clean, intuitive MVP interface. My focus was on delivering wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and a small design system within the internship period.

Working Process

In this project, I was tasked with designing a new PMS system for Amiqa.io from the ground up, as the company only had branding and one feature—dynamic pricing. My role was to create the entire interface from scratch and integrate it seamlessly with their existing style. I began by building a wireframe focused on user efficiency and engagement, with the calendar view as the key component. I iterated on its design multiple times to keep it clean, intuitive, and consistent, removing unnecessary features and keeping only what was essential. The result was a brand-new PMS design that aligned with the company’s branding and delivered a user-friendly experience from the start.

Skill learned

This project strengthened my ability to communicate and collaborate with different stakeholders, understanding their needs and priorities before making design decisions. I learned how to translate business goals and research insights into a functional, user-friendly prototype, and how to balance stakeholder expectations with user needs. I improved my skills in creating responsive layouts, building a small but scalable design library, and simplifying complex workflows into clear, intuitive interfaces. I also gained experience working within branding guidelines, prioritizing features under time constraints, and designing for non-technical users in a way that feels approachable yet powerful.
